EurOmnis 2010 returns to Hotel Klein Zwitserland... For the second year EurOmnis takes place in Hotel Klein Zwitserland (Little Switzerland), a splendidly situated hotel built in Swiss Chalet-style near Arnhem, in the centre of the Netherlands. Klein Zwitserland is a very compact hotel, giving the impression every facility is 'just around the corner'. Stepping into the entrance hall feels a bit like coming home... warm colours, an open fire, a great lounge, a look at the cozy bar, all very welcoming, very inviting... Please make yourself comfortable, get settled, we do hope you'll feel at home soon. Klein Zwitserland has 71 rooms, offering lodging for about 100 attendees. Should there be more attendees, we will make room reservations in other hotels nearby. Allocations will be on a first come, first served basis. The hotel has been completely booked for the event so there will be no other guests to interrupt the conference.
Hotel Klein Zwitserland was build in 1905 and completely destroyed during WWI. It was rebuild in 1927. In 1968 the hotel was bought by the Knijnenburg family and became the basis for the Bilderberg Group, a conglomerate of luxury hotels in the Netherlands. You may have heard of Bilderberg in another context... In 1954 the most powerful men in the world met for the first time under the auspices of the Dutch Royal family and the Rockefeller family in a very luxurious Hotel in the small Dutch town of Oosterbeek. They named themselves 'The Bilderberg Club' because they stayed in Hotel Bilderberg, now owned by the Bilderberg group... For an entire weekend they debated the future of the world. When it was over, they decided to meet once every year to exchange ideas and analyze international affairs. Since then, they gather yearly in a luxurious hotel somewhere in the world to discuss, debate and decide on the future of humanity... |

Reception Dining When all goes as planned, busses will be waiting for us on Wednesday evening for a 5 kilometer ride. We'll have The EurOmnis Dinner at Castle Doorwerth , constructed 'in the year of our lord' 1260 for the Landgrave Berend van Doorenweerdt... The castle is said to be haunted by the ghost of Contessa Charlotte-Sophie who used to sneak away from her husband. When she discovered her spouse and her children had died she returned to the castle to grieve over them, lamenting and wailing ever since... We're quite sure she has the utmost respect for Omnis Developers and will not disturb our meal... we are planning a luxury candlelight dinner. Afterwards the busses will take us back to the hotel for Happy Hour. |
