Welcome to EurOmnis
EurOmnis is the yearly European Conference organised for and by the Omnis Developer Community. EurOmnis is meant to give developers a chance to meet face to face, to exchange experiences, to testdrive new ideas and to discover the latest developments in their favorite programming language. The most prominent speakers in the Omnis world have agreed to share their knowledge, making EurOmnis a unique learning experience.
EurOmnis means small sessions that encourage more two-way communication, offering new ways for the attendees to really learn. Many people do not like to ask questions in a classroom environment but will feel comfortable in smaller groups. Sessions will be repeated, so when you miss one, you can attend the same session later in the day or the week. The small session format can be seen as a kind of interactif learning, crucial for developing new technologies, giving participants that are in the process of acquiring knowledge means to exchange knowledge and to take advantage of each others ideas and experiences.
We do have some 'traditional' tracks that remain in classroom style. David Swain is hosting one of those. His famous Omnis Studio Insights is the perfect place for new developers to get all the basics needed to write Omnis Code and to jump-start their Studio career. Then there's Joe Maus hosting his SQL-101, a complete course on connecting Studio to different back-ends with all their pitfalls and possibilities. Last but not least we have Andreas Pfeiffer hosting the Studio Application Lab where attendees will build an application from scratch, covering all aspects of Omnis Studio. These tracks are pure transmission of knowledge, so given in classroom-format.
Sessions at your knowledge level!
We plan sessions on different levels; for starting developers who will have need for the basics of Studio, for intermediate developers who want to improve their skills, and for long time developers who would like to really go to the bone. No matter what level you're at, there will be sessions that suit your needs.
More than 300 hours of learning...
EurOmnis is 4 fully packed days, 20 of the most prominent and knowledgeable speakers in the Omnis world, 120 sessions, around 60 different subjects, more than 300 hours of learning. Whatever you want to know regarding Omnis Studio, whether you're New-bee or Pro, if you do not find it at EurOmnis, it's not worth looking for!
Other information:
EurOmnis 2011 will be held from October 23 till October 28 at Hotel Klein Zwitserland, Arnhem, the Netherlands. The hotel has been completely booked for the event. Roomrate, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and coffeebreaks are included in your conference fee.
We have invited TigerLogic to be present at the conference to demonstrate their latest products and to answer all your questions. They are very enthusiastic and are lending great support. We will have key staff from Mitford House and TigerLogic Germany doing sessions on Omnis basics.
Because of last years succes, EurOmnis will again have it's own Support Booth. Götz Krija from TL Tech Support will be available during the course of the conference to answer all your support questions.
